[OPEN] {So, Here I Go} « Thread Started on Jan 14, 2007, 12:30pm »
Yousei sat primly against the cinema's outside palm-tree planter, his hands folded in his lap and an almost focused expression on his face. His eyes were trained on the crowd clustered just outside the admission gate, light and sweet and hinting at just a little bit of malice.
A concierge approached him, smiling cordially and asking if he planned to buy a ticket for such-and-such movie, and if he did, would he please make his way to the front as loitering was prohibited.... Sei had to hold back a laugh at the petty nitpicking of this poor sap. Modern-human problems always gave him a kick.
He smiled faintly at the attendant, as if he didn't understand. It might have been easy to believe, too - he was dressed exotically, in his favorite sepia-colored yukata, and like-colored geta sandals. His makeup was in its usual style of flagrant theatricals: dark eyes, bright mouth, every inch of visible skin dusted white and highlighted with pink.
Sei wasn't particularly hungry, so when the boy left, he had no intention of pursuing him. Sighing, pulled his knees closer to him - it was rather cold - and tested the air.
There was a slight hint of something in the wind, but what it was, he wouldn't dare to guess.

Why, did it seem that no matter where you went you had to fight your way through crowds? Why was it that the kids barely out of kindergarten could look so evil, possibly possessed maybe-or just mean? Mercedes paused mid-stride as a rather large stinky man moved forward in line, he refused to let her past, so Mercedes had no other choice then to push him aside “God is there really anything all that good out at the moment?” she questioned sarcastically as she finally made it out of the sea of rudeness and indignity-cute name. Of course, the girl considered as she paused glancing around curiously, it would have been easy to go around the sea of rudeness and indignity other then trekking straight through it- ah well. Warm almond toned eyes fell about a few random faces stopping on one rather unique one for a minute glad to have a break of the mundane regular-ness that filled the area. The girl then glanced away watching for a moment as the large stinky man got his ticket for god knows what, probably some chick flick. The girl smirked at this, and then slowly, and somewhat cautiously began to move towards the boy lounging near a large planter, which played host to a somewhat out of place palm tree. She then pulled to a stop a foot or two away from him keeping her normal distance “Hullo” She then said to him forcing herself to meet his gaze and to think of something other then how cold she was, because she would like to have feeling in her toes once again, it was a privilege she enjoyed.

Sei's eyes flickered momentarily over the newcomer, almost passing her entirely until she came closer still, and the sickly sweet smell of blessed water had become apparent. It wasn't strong, and just barely strong enough to let him know she was carrying a nice-sized flask.
He nodded cordially, catching the almost menacing air of distinction she managed to exude. Without seeming to, his hands folded into his sleeves and he slid the fingerpick over his left index finger, just in case.
"Are you here alone?" he asked, quietly and without tone. If indeed she was hunting, it would be wise to gauge her now, in case he needed to run.

Mercedes watched the boy curiously; he looked younger then herself, but years of hearing about and hunting vampires told her otherwise. Everything in her screamed to attack this vamp, but every once of her that was in some way logical told her to stay put and not to make a scene. The girl smiled thinly and slipped her left hand into the back pocket of her jeans her gaze never leaving the creature before her. Anger boiled inside her, she hated vampires, she blamed them for what happened to her father, for never seeing her sisteragain, for making her mother go whack, but she couldn’t put all the blame on the one, not yet, not until he did something that gave her a reason to hunt him, innocent until proven guilty, that was her one and only rule. She smiled thinly then said mockingly “What? Scared?” She tilted her head to the side slightly then freed her hand form her pocket so she could cross her arms over her chest. “Yes” She then began keeping her tone low “I am here alone” No one to come to the movies with, she added to herself somewhat amused.

Sei smiled faintly, removing his hands from the sleeves and idly palming the pick on his finger. So she was a hunter, then... oh, well, that made things interesting, didn't it? He rose and dusted himself off, tired of the city's grime and the almost incoherent way the people here lived. Even now, he knew that had he been in a smaller town, he would have been able to sense this hunter, and the realization gave him a bit of a turn. He was currently very unguarded, and being in public didn't help at all.
So instead of making an esoteric remark, as he normally would have, he simply dug into his purse, offhandedly bringing out his compact and applying just a little more blush powder. It was a calm act, done with a pretentious flair. He snapped the compact closed and pressed it into his bag.
"If you could tell, then I'm getting sloppy," said he, a light lilt of humor in his voice. "Are you going to attack, or not? If you aren't, I'd like you to please remove the Holy Water flask, it's rather unnerving."

Mercedes blew a small bubble of spearmint gum some what lazily then sniffled slightly before saying “Okay fine but I’ll let you know I worked very hard to get this last batch it feels like such a waste” The girl retrieved the worn leather flask which had been safely hidden within her rather thin black sweater. “I’ll let you now the flask stay if there still something in there that make your hair curl I’m truly, not very sorry” The girl shrugged then moved over to a rose bush, one of the many that lined the theatre walls. She then unscrewed the flasks lid and dumped all the dirty flasks holy contents out with a bit of lament. She then tucked the flask safely back into it’s hiding place and moved back over to her earlier spot turning her head to the side slightly “If I can tell, ‘scuse me I” she laughed slightly “Yeah whatever, and you don’t really blend with the crowd” Mercedes glanced over her shoulder at the mass off people waiting in line at the ticket booth. She then turned back to the vampire before adding “ And anyways I’ve gotten good at spotting out you people, no offense-well maybe just a little.” The girl then shrugged once again, yeah, she was rude, she knew I, and really, she could care less.

Sei smiled appreciatively - well, as appreciatively as he could look - as she drained herself of the Holy Water. She returned momentarily, just after he had considered shadowing out quietly... but that would be the coward's way, and Sei would have rather faced the contents of those carafes than do anything as shameful as that. Besides, she seemed relatively young... in the case she attacked, he'd probably be able to outdo her anyway.
“Yeah whatever, and you don’t really blend with the crowd”
Sei had to laugh upon hearing her returning remark. He pressed his hand against his mouth delicately, trying to quell the open peals.
"Subtlety isn't your way, then... oh well. I suppose I can manage." He emitted a bemused snicker, pressing out the wrinkles in his sleeves as he pulled out a Cat's Cradle to play with it idly.
"So then... if you're not going to attack, you seem to be very interested in keeping my company. Why so?"
