bic:}} Laughing quietly to herself, Carine observed the pair, quite entertained. She’d never recognized how playful Blaze was until the kitten became Alastair’s. Blaze was rather attached and loyal to him, she noticed, never leaving his side. Crumpling her empty fry package into a small ball, she laid out unto her stomach, carelessly pitching the ball upward then catching it. “Mhm. And many people become engrossed with the lifestyle, wishing vampires actually existed so that they could be just like them. Be immortal…and seemingly forget that vampires aren’t invincible. That they are limited to certain things.” She shrugged somewhat. “I will admit that I was fascinated, but I was happy with who I was. Why aspire to be something else?” That was just her. If by some chance her specie changed, she’d just have to accept it, but she didn’t see that occurring except by an accident. “But, movies and books aren’t meant to be taken literally. I mean, those sorts of books are labeled fictional for a reason. Obviously they know about vampires, but twist the facts to create a more enticing story.” And maybe the first novel was written by a playful vampire who wanted people to believe certain things, so if by chance a mortal encountered one of them, they wouldn’t have a chance since stuff like garlic and holy water didn’t deter the bloodsuckers. “Heh. Think about the pain. It’ll give you a reason to never forget not to be outside when daylight approaches,” she mumbled, smirking a bit.
“Ugh. No. Not tofu. I tasted that once, and I don’t see how anyone could eat it,” she declared. She respected another’s reasons for not consuming meat, but some of the things they ate were gross, to put it frankly. They probably thought the same thing about what she ate though. As long as they didn’t explain their reasons while she was devouring a double cheeseburger with bacon, mainly because she’d just keep on eating it either way. “I know you’re vegetarian, but I figure you weren’t vegan because you ate ice-cream. Basically, it has in some sort of patty made out of potato and…something else,” she shrugged. Skimming over his shirtless torso when he sat up, she chuckled softly. “True. That isn’t right,” she murmured, now just twirling the ball in between the gaps of her fingers. “Well, if you deem it normal, I have no other option but to believe you,” she nodded. She knew there were people who were just as skinny and ate a lot, but she hadn’t seen one before who ate like a bird. Carine was of average weight, neither under nor over, and she was happy with it, since she knew she was healthy.
Intensely watching him, she finally shook her head after a few moments. “I guess I’m glad you haven’t lied to me then,” she grinned. “As for me, I’m a terrible liar. I stammer sometimes, and definitely can’t keep eye contact. And if by some miracle I told a good lie, I’ll end up telling the truth right after. So I just don’t," she confessed, laughing a little. “Hmm. I wanna see that picture. If you’re willing to show it that is,” she murmured, smiling. “You probably keep it so people like me can pester to see a young Alastair,” she teased.
Bobbing her head in confirmation, she said, “Yeah, I’m sure…Well, I don’t think…it was.” She faltered, second-guessing herself. It could very well be one of them. She heaved a sigh. “In truth, I don’t know what a lycan presence feels like. I’ve never encountered any of them,” she admitted, folding her arms on the ground, furrowing her brows. “Well, whatever it was, I don’t feel it around anymore,” she informed, thinking that a good thing, as long as it didn’t come back. Fact still remained that she could very well be having a bout of paranoia though. In this case, it’d be better if she was… “Do you feel anything?”
